6th Annual Moloka'i Food & Business Expo (11:00AM - 4:00PM)
Spend a day on Moloka'i immersed in locally grown food offerings and culinary talent at the 6th Annual Business & Food Expo, "Pu ke Pono Maika'i-Sharing the Goodness."  Held at Lanikeha community center in Ho'olehua, the day will be filled with cooking demonstrations all day long.  Moloka'i's top chefs will use locally sourced ingredients to create delicious dishes that you can too.  There will also be vendor booths featuring local farms, food artisans and crafts.  The event is intended to both entertain and engage visitors, as well as to foster partnerships between local farmers and food enterprises.

An Evening At River Ranch--Aurora Foundation Benefit (5:00AM - 10:00AM)

Imagine...an evening under the stars at the majestic River Ranch on the North Shore of Kaua'i, enjoying specialties created by Kaua'i chefs using fresh produce from local farms served tapas style. Dance the night away, bid at the live and silent auctions, and take in a slide show. The event benefits the Aurora Foundation, providing clean water, food, education and medical services to the children in need.

Food prepared by Chef Morgan, Qi Chef, Luana Chef, the Foraging Fork, Icing on the Cake and Small Town Coffee.

Tickets available at Small Town Coffee (Kapa'a), K-Town Market (Kilauea), Island Soap and Candle Works (Princeville), Papaya's (Hanalei), or by calling Cyndee at 652-5874 or Lee at 828-1513.

Tickets are $50 per person plus a donation of food for Kaua'i charities, dress is "ranch chic."

River Ranch is located on Kuhio Highway, mauka side, between mile markers 22 and 23.

Kailua-Kona, HI. November 15th, 2008 - The Hawaiian Organic Farmer's Association is planning its annual meeting on Saturday, November 15th, 2008, at the Kona-Keauhou Yacht Club, located at the Keauhou Harbor in Kona.  The event will run from 10 AM until 2 PM.  The schedule of events will feature 2 presentations by Ted Radovich, PhD, from the Sustainable Farming Systems Laboratory, Department of Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences, University of Hawaii at Manoa.  The topics of his talks will be Working and Achieving Together; Farmers and the CTAHR Organic Working Group, and also Transitioning to Organic — How and Why?  In addition there will be a general business meeting, Information tables, merchandise for sale, and natural food snacks and pupus.

The HFU meeting will follow imediately and conclude by 4 p.m.
